Our Story and Why Dad101
I'm Alayna, new mama and CTO for Dad101. I remember how wild my first pregnancy was for both me and my husband; we both wanted to be well-informed, but weren't sure what resources to trust.
It was really important to my partner to be proactive, too – he wanted to know what to expect at each stage and how to help me as much as possible. Those first few months were overwhelming – it seemed like every day we learned something new and surprising (like how the pregnancy is counted as starting from the first day of your last menstrual period even though conception doesn't typically happen until after your period is over...WTF??), or we learned about a new test or doctor's appointment a week or two beforehand, not giving us much time to plan. Or a new pregnancy symptom would show up that I didn't know how to deal with!
I knew other first-time parents must be similarly overwhelmed, and especially first-time dads who just really want to support their partners. So we created Dad101 to make those first few months much easier: helping dads get the jump start on supporting their pregnant partner and knowing what to expect with pregnancy so that they can be phenomenal partners and amazing dads.
