#8 - Month 4 - Start planning for and building your baby's nursery!

After looking through the internet for the best tips and advice, my partner and I were able to create a timeline for the formidable task of planning the nursery.

1. We chose a theme and our budget by 14-16 weeks.

We even created a shared mood board to visualize the nursery.

1. We already had made a baby registry the month prior so that loved ones could help out with filling up the nursery.

2. We ordered our furniture by 17-19 weeks because it usually takes a long time for delivery and we wanted to be all set up way before the baby arrived.

3. We painted and wallpapered by 20-23 weeks.

We did this early so that there is plenty of time to air out before the baby comes. This is even true if you are painting with a low or no volatile organic compound (VOC) paint. If you have purchased your crib mattress by this time it is also good to remove its packaging and air it out as well.

1. We chose storage solutions and got those installed by 24-26 weeks.

2. We spent weeks 27-29 adding all the extras to make it beautiful.

3. By 32 weeks it was all complete (just in case our baby decided to come early!)
